Veiled Chameleons are the most commonly bred and available species of chameleons, and are now being bred in captivity. They are hardy reptiles which require tall cages for perching, supplemental heat and UV light, a varied insect diet, and a dripping water source. As the Veiled Chameleon can be found in a range of habitats it is adaptable to a variety of temperatures and humidity. It is easily recognised by the large casque, or helmet, on top of its head. This is one of the hardiest chameleon species available.
